Once the gait video has been uploaded, Ochy automatically processes both side and back-view recordings.
This section focuses on understanding and explaining the back-view analysis, as it provides key insights into alignment, stability, and pronation — essential factors in recommending the right shoe model.
Purpose
The back-view analysis allows you to identify:
Foot alignment (neutral, pronated, or supinated)
Knee tracking and inward/outward movement
Pelvic drop and hip stability
Overall symmetry between left and right leg movement
These parameters directly influence whether a customer may benefit from neutral or support shoes.
How to Access the Back-View Results
After upload, go to the customer’s Analysis Results page.
Switch between Side View and Back View using the toggle at the top of the screen.
Click on Back View to display visual overlays and metric values.
Key Metrics and What They Mean
Metric | Description | What to Look For |
Pelvic Drop | Measures hip stability between strides. | >4° drop = potential asymmetry or glute weakness. |
Knee Alignment | Assesses inward or outward knee movement in line between hip and ankle. | Knee position inward (abduction) or outward (adduction). |
Foot Pronation Angle | Measures inward roll of the foot after ground contact. | Visible inward tilt = overpronation; outward tilt = oversupination. |
How to Explain It to Customers
Use simple, confidence-building language:
“This back-view shows how your feet and legs align when you run. You have a slightly inward rotation here — that’s called pronation. It’s very common, and we’ll use it to match you with a shoe that gives you the right level of support.”
Avoid diagnostic or medical phrasing — focus on movement patterns and shoe fit outcomes.
Staff Guidance
Be visual: Point to the overlay lines and show differences between left and right sides.
Stay positive: Emphasize that variation is normal — the goal is to optimize comfort and efficiency, not “correct a problem.”
Analysis Comparison
The comparison tool allows you to evaluate differences between two analyses of the same type (e.g., back-view and back-view) for the same customer, such as when testing different shoe models or observing progress over time.
Comparing the Same Customer
If you record multiple videos of the same customer, you can generate a comparison:
Go to the “Analysis” section.
Select “Compare”.
Choose the two videos you want to compare.
Tap “Validate” to generate the comparison view.
You will see the two recordings side-by-side, making it easy to assess how different shoes or conditions affect:
Pronation
Stability
Knee and hip alignment
Stride mechanics
This tool is ideal for demonstrating clear differences between shoe models and supporting evidence-based recommendations.
